Bullet For My Valentine & Trivium: The Poisoned Ascendancy UK Tour 2025 - The O2 Arena, London (Saturday 1st February 2025)
Bullet were off the charts
Orbit Culture were the opening act and were very good. Trivium were better than expected (I'm not their biggest fan). I watched and thought: [Bullet For My Valentine] are gonna have to be good to better that. Wow.
From the get-go, Bullet For My Valentine blew the doors and roof off The O2 Arena. Everyone standing even in the seats. The energy in the room was electric. Band and crowd in unison. Pure class, loved the gig.

MARILYN: The Exhibition - Arches London Bridge, London (Sunday 2nd February 2025)
Amazing collection
This stunning exhibition offers an extraordinary collection of Marilyn Monroe's personal belongings, providing fascinating insights into every stage of her remarkable life. The artifacts are thoughtfully arranged throughout the magnificent venue, taking visitors on a chronological journey through her story.
The exhibition space itself is housed in a beautiful historic building, complemented by an elegant gift shop and charming café that round out the experience perfectly.

Craig David: Commitment Tour 2025 - First Direct Arena, Leeds (Sunday 2nd February 2025)
Amazing
Best concert myself and husband have ever been to. Every aspect of the music so well thought out and put together. Craig David is an amazing talent and born entertainer. Loved every part of the show and was truly amazed by it. Lemar as support was also brilliant - amazing range. New material of both is really good. Loved it!
Only sorry Craig not coming to Belfast as would have gone to the show again along with friends. I would recommend anyone that has the chance to attend to buy tickets!

Winter's End - Trecco Bay Holiday Park, Porthcawl (Friday 31st January - Monday 3rd February 2025)
Great way of seeing new talent
Winter's End showcases bands who aren't yet in the top echelon of the music business, but have great talent and deserve to reach a wider audience. For rock fans, (no disco/soul here!), it's a brilliant way to see a range of bands over three days without trudging through muddy fields or suffering festival camping.
All the action is indoors on a stage with excellent sound and lighting, and accomodation on site is available for those of us for whom camping is way in the past. Been going for years, all eight previous Winter's Ends, and will be booking WE2026 as soon as tickets come available.

Papa Roach: Rise Of The Roach Tour - OVO Arena Wembley, London (Friday 7th February 2025)
Papa Roach were amazing tonight
Wembley Arena was shaking tonight. Papa Roach were amazing. After all these years, they’re just getting better and better. Band super tight, Jacoby’s voice was amazing. Seen them a lot, and this was the best they’ve ever been.
How they don’t headline more, I’ve no idea. Download second stage headline some day soon, please!

Bored Teachers - Union Chapel, London (Friday 7th February 2025)
One of the best laugh out loud events I've been to!
Genuinely funny show, affectionately presented. I know it helped if you had some experience of teaching but "old pupils" would enjoy hearing those stories too. I had more belly laughs than I've had in a long time and I go to quite a few comedy shows.
I'm a semi-retired teacher and recognised many of the situations. I also liked the way that the teachers' affection and concern for their pupils came through along with the banter. And the lack of swearing suggested that it wasn't needed to produce the humour!

Rachel Newnham - The Grace, London (Saturday 8th February 2025)
I still cannot believe how amazing the night was!
The best and most unforgettable performance by the amazing Rachel Newnham. I found [her] on TikTok and [she] quickly became a family favourite. The headline show was my daughters first ever gig, and what a memorable gig it was for her.
The audience was so interactive and supportive of each other, tears of joy were shared. I am so glad I bought tickets not only to see Rachel, but to share in the amazing moments of the night. We have framed the signed setlist, which has been placed front and centre in my daughters bedroom.

Uriah Heep: The Magician's Farewell - Symphony Hall, Birmingham (Wednesday 19th February 2025)
Classic rock: hard AND psychedelic!
These guys are committed professionals who always deliver but this was a very special gig, saying a fond farewell to extended touring. Here is the make up of the five-piece that plays no "easy pieces"!
Guitar ace Mick Box's dexterous wahwah pedal is his great gift, alongside numerous co-writing credits on songs, great and glorious. Mick has just got faster and more intricate over the many years of performance. He is spoken of but will never admit to it - yes, he is the nicest guy in rock music!
Canadian Bernie Shaw on vocals is a great gift to the band as he combines melodic power with range, from falsetto to booming metal gruffness. Quiet or loud, he delivers spot on vocals, carrying the emotional power that makes Heep stand out from much of the metal crowd.
Backed by powerhouse "rocking" Russell Gilbrook on Drums, dashing up the fretboard young Londoner Davey Rimmer on ballistic bass, and super-talented Phil Lanzon on those distinctive Heep organ passages, that add a swirling power reminiscent of Atomic Rooster or Deep Purple in their eerie pomp, notably on "Rainbow Demon" and other unforgettable tracks from the early 70s.
Adored in eastern Europe perhaps even more than their homeland, they purvey songs of freedom and joy that anyone can access. In this gig I was very pleasantly surprised to hear the full extended version of "Magician's Birthday", a track that while somewhat of its time has been much loved by generations of fans, and is perhaps their most psychedelic of all. Roger Dean was just born to do the perfectly matched fantasy cover art.
As Mick says, 'appy days! Especially when these memories resurface during your waking hours for days after.
