On Sale This Week: Squid, Frank Turner, The Hunna & More

SQUID
When: Saturday 5th December 2026 (Barbican Hall, London)
Squid make their Barbican Hall, London debut this December, in a one-off show marking both Rough Trade's 50th anniversary and the band's own first decade together. The five-piece formed in Brighton in 2016 as an instrumental jazz act for a small monthly night, before growing restless with the format led them to Brixton's Windmill and the capital's thriving DIY scene. A Top 5 debut with Bright Green Field (2021) followed, then the denser, more brooding O Monolith (2023), each record pulling further from where the band started.
Latest album Cowards (2025) pushes further again: nine character studies built around cults, charisma and quiet complacency, drawing as much on the fiction of Ottessa Moshfegh and Ryū Murakami as on the band's own experience of touring the world together. The Quietus called it "the most exciting and volatile the group has ever sounded", and a decade in, the Barbican feels like the perfect stage for a band whose next move still can't be called in advance.
FRANK TURNER
When: Saturday 5th September 2026 (The Clapham Grand, London)
Frank Turner's headline show at The Clapham Grand, London this September isn't attached to an album campaign. It's in aid of Stop The Shadows, the flagship fundraiser for disability charity ABLE2UK, held this year to mark the charity's 25th anniversary. Turner, an ABLE2UK trustee, returns to the event for the first time since taking on that role, with money raised going towards improving accessibility at independent venues, where step-free access, hearing loops and clear sightlines too often remain an afterthought. Support on the night comes from Grace Chloe.
It's a cause closely aligned with Turner's long-standing support for grassroots music: in 2024 he set a Guinness World Record for performing 15 acoustic gigs in 24 hours in support of grassroots venues and independent record stores, having previously raised close to £300,000 for the same cause, work that earned him the Music Venue Trust's Outstanding Achievement Award.
The fundraiser also arrives in the middle of a busy year. He's just finished a summer of outdoor UK co-headline shows with Bowling For Soup as Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and marked 20 years since his solo debut with the anniversary edition Campfire Punkrock 20.
THE HUNNA
When: Monday 23rd November - Sunday 13th December 2026 (multiple UK dates)
The Hunna's farewell run was always going to mean a lot to their fans, but the speed at which it sold out has turned it into something bigger. Since announcing the tour earlier this month, the band have watched the majority of dates disappear within days, adding four further shows: Portsmouth Guildhall, DEPOT, Cardiff, Octagon Centre, Sheffield and a second night at O2 Forum Kentish Town, London.
The timing carries its own weight. 2026 marks ten years since 100, the gold-selling debut that took the Hertfordshire four-piece from teenage bedroom band to a fixture on the UK's biggest stages, and the group have chosen to mark that anniversary by ending things on their own terms. As frontman Ryan puts it, it's "been our whole lives since teenagers", and this final tour will move through 100 in full alongside highlights from the rest of the catalogue, before the story closes for good in London.
TIFFANY DAY
When: Friday 11th December 2026 (EartH Hall, London)
Following the kind of demand promoters dream about, Tiffany Day has added a second London date after her original Electric Brixton show sold out, with a new show at EartH Hall, London on Friday 11th December 2026. It's the sort of scramble that makes sense once you track her rise: since breaking through as a teenager with a viral cover of "Hallelujah", Day has built her following the slow way, through self-released EPs, a self-funded and sold-out 2024 North American tour, and a DJ side project, BASSFLUFF, as well known for turning up in gyms and nail salons as it is in clubs.
Her second album HALO, released this year, marks the point where that internet-honed persona met genuine critical attention: a No. 1 finish on the Apple Music Electronic chart, co-signs from Laufey and Yunjin of LE SSERAFIM, and three release shows that sold out in under five minutes. If HALO is Day's most confident work to date, this UK run, which also stops at New Century, Manchester, is the clearest sign so far that the audience has arrived to match it.
GOLDIE LOOKIN CHAIN
When: Saturday 12th - Saturday 19th December 2026 (multiple Welsh dates)
Goldie Lookin Chain's Christmas run has become as much a fixture of the Welsh gig calendar as panto. You Snows It returns this December for stops in Bridgend, Buckley and a two-night home stand at The Corn Exchange, Newport, complete with the group's usual blend of chaos, belly laughs and a genuine soft spot for a good cause, as shown by new single "Puppuccino", a tribute to dogs and dog cafés shot with rescues from Newport City Dogs Home.
The festive dates land while GLC are still mid-way through Stairway To Newport, the main 2026 tour taking in stops from Southend to Glasgow with support from rising names JJ Bull, The Welsh John MOuse and Breichiau Hir. Between the two runs, and a newly confirmed London headline show at O2 Forum Kentish Town next March, it's shaping up to be one of the busiest years for a band NME recently noted still shows "no sign of wearing off just yet". If you're planning on joining the festive chaos, don't hang about.
