White Lies are a superb Post Punk band from Ealing, London. The band centres around drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown, guitarist Harry McVeigh who is responsible for lead vocals and backing vocals from Charles Cave also on bass.

They have recently released their stunning new album entitled Friends which they promote with upcoming live shows.

The trio formed the band as teens and originally worked under the title Fear Of Flying. Achieving quite some success, they released two double a-side singles Routemaster/Round Three and Three’s A Crowd/Forget-Me-Nots through independent label Young And Lost Club. They also played support slots for the likes of Laura Marling, Jamie T and The Maccabees.

However, Cave began to feel they had outgrown their previous work and wanted to push in a new, darker, direction. As the name was no longer fit for purpose they adopted a new moniker and in 2007 made a declaration on Myspace: “ Fear of Flying is DEAD ... White Lies is alive!”.

After gigging heavily they were invited to perform on top BBC music telly program Later… With Jools Holland. The prominent display of their talent succeeded in widening their audience just before they entered the studio to record their debut album.

To Lose My Life Or Lose My Love (commonly shortened to just To Lose My Life…) was released in January of 2009 and earned White Lies a place on the ShockWaves NME Awards Tour. They have subsequently released the records Ritual in 2011 and Big TV during 2013.

White Lies tickets will become available through Gigantic.com at 10:00 on Friday 1st of July. Use the website to set your own personal reminder so that you don’t miss out.

Touring towards the end of the year, White Lies will play at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London, Nottingham’s legendary Rock City and O2 Institute Birmingham during November. Then they will play O2 Academy Bristol in December.

They are already preparing for an exciting new year with February dates at O2 Academy Sheffield, O2 Academy Oxford, Y Plas in Cardiff and O2 Academy Leicester before performing at Portsmouth Pyramid Centre and The Troxy in London during March of 2017.

As gig tickets are always limited make sure you get yours early to avoid disappointment.
