Suede exploded in the early 90’s amid a huge glare of media obsession, only to become one of the central pillars of Britpop with their songs about drugs, sex, alienation and addiction.

They have just announced a major gig at O2 Academy Bristol on Sunday 21st of April 2019.

Plus, you can see them make a performance at Penn Festival, taking place at The Big Park in Buckinghamshire from Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of July 2019.

Suede bounded onto the British music scene with the eponymous No 1 debut album released in 1993 that sold over 100,000 in its first week of release, kick-starting the Britpop revolution and going on to become a Mercury Music Prize winner. Success continued throughout the nineties with further No 1 albums like ‘Coming Up’ and ‘Head Music’ and top 10’s ‘Dog Man Star’ and ‘Sci-Fi Lullabies’. Fronted by the charismatic Brett Anderson, top 10 singles like ‘Animal Nitrate’, Stay Together’, ‘Trash’, ‘Beautiful Ones’, ‘Saturday Night’, ‘Lazy’, ‘Filmstar’ and ‘Electricity’ epitomised the vibrancy, edge and excitement of the band and ensured an impressive chart presence across a decade before going on indefinite hiatus in 2003. After re-forming for some well-received live shows in 2010-11, Suede got down to recording their sixth studio album. ‘Bloodsports’ was released in 2013 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, marked as one of the great rock comebacks and regarded as one of the best albums of the year. It would be the first of a trilogy, to be followed by ‘Night Thoughts’ in 2016 and now their stunning new release ‘The Blue Hour’.

While Suede have never been a stranger to pretension, no-one could have expected that they would ever stray into the realms of a ‘concept album’. The Blue Hour tells the story of the dark and littered spaces of the English countryside found just to the side of the motorway as seen through the eyes of a child. Themes of horror, heartbreak and alienation are explored through fourteen expansive songs which reflect a broken Britain struggling for identity and finding only more inner conflict.” - Jimi Arundell, Drowned In Sound
