OK so the beer wasn't the best......but actually the choice was large. I just chose unwisely. Clwb is a place I went to as a student in the 80s, I think the same beer-sodden carpet is there but hey..... The acoustics were great. A crowd of about 30 in a small venue - just perfect. Emily's support act and Keyboardist Pete Roe was struck by an acute attack of back pain and was unable to come so the bassist/double bassist Lucas Drinkwater played a few numbers - to say he hasn't performed solo for more than a year he said, he was great. Smooth, mellow, bit hippy (forever a Cornish stoned teen as he said...) and good, very. Emily was as per usual outstanding. Captured the room with her big voice, numbers from the new album Dear River aswell as older ones form Alamanac and others, including her signature 'Nostalgia'. Long set, good admix of acoustic, guitar and ensemble. Love it.
