About Alabama 3

Alabama 3 grew out of South London's late-1980s acid house scene, where founders Rob Spragg and Jake Black first crossed paths at a rave in Peckham. Their idea was gloriously odd: take the soul of bluesy, gospel-tinged country and set it to the relentless pulse of techno. The result was a sound nobody else was making, and it came together on debut album Exile on Coldharbour Lane (1997). That record's "Woke Up This Morning" went on to become the opening theme for The Sopranos, introducing the Brixton band to a worldwide audience.

They kept the party going with La Peste (2000), Power in the Blood (2002) and Outlaw (2005), pairing sharp social commentary and dark wit with grooves built for dancing. But it's on stage where Alabama 3 truly come alive. They've played Glastonbury Festival several times, including a slot on the Pyramid Stage, and their gigs have long brought together ravers, rockers, country fans and everyone in between. Expect a big, sweaty, joyous night that feels part revival meeting, part rave.
