The Wombats, O2 Academy Bristol, Bristol - 28th March 2018

I really did enjoy this event and this is not a message to put down the event or the venue in any way!

The music was amazing, as always you have continued to bring talented and well-known acts to Bristol.

The only query that I have of last night was the way that the crowds were coordinated. Last night I decided to bring my little brother to his first gig and I wanted to show him the full experience so I took him down to the pit (the section nearest to the stage), which is my favourite place to go. We started off in the middle of the floor but as it got busier we decided to push further backwards as the crowd was starting to get more mental. This proved to be quite hard! I thought that it was busy that night but the pit got busier and busier until everyone was cramped in together, making it hard to move and turn around. I would usually have no problem with this either but once again it continued to get busier! At this point I was expecting security to stop people from entering that area but this was not going to happen! There were other children around me getting pushed into mosh pits and getting squashed so it could have been quite dangerous. This was the only thing that I disliked about this event but I feel that this matter should have been taken care of as it was happening as everyone around me saying the exact same thing.

I thought everything about the event was amazing and I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

The Wombats are back and are ready to rock. Catch them when they take over Zebedee’s Yard at Hull in August plus Linfield Park Resort in September 2018.

They blast off next year with an unmissable gig at O2 Academy Bournemouth on Tuesday 29th of January 2019.

As you would expect, as the excitement builds then so does the demand so you will have to act fast and book your The Wombats tickets quickly or you may well be left disappointed. You can place your order with Gigantic for your chosen gig tickets using your smartphone, tablet or computer 24/7 either whilst busy on the go or when relaxing at home.

The Wombats tickets can be yours very soon. Launched at 09:00 on Thursday 30th of August and expected to sell very quickly, you can make yourself ready for their release right now by setting a personal reminder through Gigantic to alert you via email or text message.

Ever since Murph, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen and drummer Dan Haggis - who met and formed The Wombats at the Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts in 2003 - emerged in 2006 and swiftly became chart-quashing champions of the noughties guitar pop explosion with hits including ‘Moving To New York’, ‘Kill The Director’ and ‘Let’s Dance To Joy Division’, they’ve barely looked back. The euphoric tales of romantic misadventures in cinemas, forests, weddings and rock clubs that filled their platinum-selling 2007 debut album ‘A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation’ garnered them a strong and dedicated fanbase in thrall to Murph’s amalgam of irrepressible hooks and downbeat tragi-comic lyricism and, with such bare-hearted emotional depth to their ditties, The Wombats resolutely refused to flash in the pan.

Encapsulating The Wombats, however, is about to get far trickier. ‘Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life’ is a giant leap into maturity, a record that’s still instantly sing-along but demands to be taken seriously. “It’s probably my proudest moment ” Murph says. “We always figure out a way to triumph in the face of adversity. Occasionally we’ve been given a bad rap but we’ve always come through. It’s like in The Shawshank Redemption when he swims through a river of shit but comes out clean on the other side, that’s this album for me. It’s the album we always should have made.

As ever, we only have limited stocks of The Wombats concert tickets being made available by the event organisers so you will have to ensure you book as soon as they are released or else it is highly likely you will miss out. With more essential gig tickets being added everyday plus an excellent customer services team on hand to help with every enquiry, award winning ticket vendor Gigantic should always be your first call whenever you are booking for your big night out.
