Pem is the musical alias of Bristol-based singer-songwriter Emily Perry, celebrated for her husky, emotive voice and a sound that drifts between melancholic folk, dreamy alternative and intimate indie-pop. Known for her evocative storytelling and atmospheric arrangements, she crafts songs that feel like tender confessions, weaving together soft guitars, subtle electronics and hushed vocals that echo old-world music halls and modern melancholia.
Her recent work — including the 2024 single “Ellipsis” and the cloud work EP — has drawn attention for its emotional honesty, lyrical depth and fragile beauty. Pem’s music often explores themes of grief, memory and human connection, inviting listeners into quiet, reflective soundscapes that linger long after the final chord. Her growing profile within the UK indie scene, backed by heartfelt songwriting and a voice that resonates with soul, marks her out as a deeply compelling and quietly powerful new voice.
