Goldie is one of the defining figures in the history of UK jungle and drum & bass. Born Clifford Joseph Price, he first made his mark as a graffiti artist before becoming a pioneering DJ, producer, and label founder. His 1995 album Timeless, featuring the iconic “Inner City Life,” helped bring jungle into the mainstream while pushing the genre into more cinematic and experimental territory.
As co-founder of Metalheadz, Goldie played a crucial role in shaping the darker, more sophisticated sound of drum & bass, championing a new generation of producers and artists. His influence extends beyond music into acting, visual art, and popular culture, cementing his reputation as one of the most distinctive and influential figures in British electronic music.
