The ultimate alternative rock band, Scottish noiseniks The Jesus and Mary Chain are led by brother s Jim and William Reid who are both recognised as key pioneers of the shoegaze scene.
They burst onto the scene with debut album Pyschocandy in 1985, immediately exciting critics and waking up the underground to their uncompromising, ear-splitting sound. They dropped second album Darklands two years later, which was a huge commercial success for the band when it broke high into the Top 10 and has now been certified Gold. Their success has continued with further titles Automatic (1989), Honey's Dead (1992), Stoned & Dethroned (1994), Munki (1998) plus Damage and Joy (2017).

Despite the audience being old(ish) quite a big number were more interested in filming than in dancing. Why not banning people with mobile phone at standing level? The band were (as usual) very very good despite the mostly immoveable people.......

Absolutely amazing gig, really good show with old and new songs everyone a cracker. Great energy from the band. A fantastic auditorium with great acoustics and sound. 40 years and going strong.
