Remarkable experience
By now I am a converted admirer of the Gesualdo Six. Yet, I was concerned about the merging of the two ensembles. What a revelation that concert was! The two enriched one another beautifully. I loved the use of the church space by positioning different parts of the Oriana choir in different places as well as, at some point, putting the Gesualdo Six at the back. Everything was done with such sensitive awareness of the aural results. Naturally, I loved some pieces much more than others, but that's life. There were so many superbly wonderful pieces to breath with. Thank you so much for this nourishing evening.
