Essex duo The Meffs are singer and guitarist Lily Hopkins and drummer Lewis Copsey. They make a racket far bigger than their line-up suggests, with frantic, hook-laden punk rock aimed squarely at modern Britain. The pair made their mark with the Frank Turner-produced EPs Broken Britain Pt. I (2022) and Broken Britain Pt. II (2023), both released on Fat Mike's Bottles to the Ground label. Turner came back to produce their full-length debut, What A Life (2024). On second album Business (2026), they teamed up with producer Dan Weller and turned the intensity up again.
The Meffs are at their best on stage. Their raucous sets have earned them support slots with Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, the Sex Pistols and The Undertones. They've also played alongside Kings of Leon at BST Hyde Park and helped see off NOFX at the band's final UK show. Festival crowds at Glastonbury, Download and 2000trees have felt the force too. As first band on at Rebellion, they packed out Blackpool's Empress Ballroom by lunchtime. As proud Music Venue Trust patrons, they champion the grassroots venues where they cut their teeth.
