Snot is an American alternative metal band formed in 1995 in Santa Barbara, California. Known for their raw, aggressive sound that blends elements of nu-metal, punk, and thrash, Snot gained attention in the late 90s for their energetic live performances and unique blend of heavy riffs and gritty vocals. The band was originally fronted by Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, with Loudon Wainwright (vocals), Moe (guitar), Jonny (bass), and Paul (drums).
Snot's breakthrough came with their debut album, Get Some (1997), which received critical acclaim for its blend of metallic and hardcore elements. The band's tragic death of vocalist Mike Muir forced the remaining members of Snot to break up after several years and a few successful tours, but the band remained active behind the scenes, collaborating with well-established metal and punk bands like Tool, Bess, and Rival Requiem.
