Learn To Play An Instrument

Whether it’s the guitar gathering dust in the corner of the room, those drums that got moved to the garage or even those decks you bought with dreams of becoming a superstar DJ; why not take the opportunity to finally get to grips with your weapon of choice and start playing some tunes yourself?

You might not be able to attend music lessons right now, but there are plenty of apps, YouTube vids and sites that can teach you basics of everything from the bass to the bassoon. Just a little bit of inspiration and a lot of patience and you can go a long way in a surprisingly short time.

Okay, so it’s probably easier on your neighbours if you’re trying out something that can be played with the use of headphones but I’m sorry – the world NEEDS a new generation of trumpet players and saxophonists so they’re just going to have to deal with it.

And if you are looking for a little help getting to grips with the guitar, Juliette Jackson from The Big Moon is offering online lessons on Zoom & Skype - why not drop her a DM on Facebook?

Remember, practice makes perfect and there is nothing more rewarding than finally nailing that difficult scale, impossible riff or writing your very own heartfelt song. Good luck, and please send us vids and pics of you playing so we can share!
