The Big Moon, The Space, Nottingham Contemporary, Nottingham - 2nd March 2020

Despite it being a Monday evening, The Big Moon certainly put on yet another awesome performance that saw them tear through their new material before heading on to their classic tracks, then a cracking cover of Fatboy Slim's 'Praise You' before finishing the night with 'Your Light' (easily one of the best singles of 2019). Take every opportunity you can to see them play!

Also, absolutely amazing service from Gigantic - deffo would only ever use this ticket agency!

The Big Moon, Chalk, Brighton - 20th April 2017

I had never been to the Haunt before ,so was not quite sure what to expect, well all was good ,straight to the bar and no queue, that was a good start .I was also relieved to find that the crowd was very varied in age ,so did not feel like I was at a school disco. The atmosphere was also friendly. There were three bands on -which is not bad for £10-I missed the first band as they started at 7-15 ish I think! The second band were good and got the crowd warmed for the The Big Moon ,and they were great ,the venue despite being very small ,had a really good sound and Juliette's vocals were clear .I think that a band should be judged by their live performance and they certainly passed this test for me,lively ,and a sound very close to the record/cd .This band will go places in the future there is no doubt ,go out of your way to see them .

Artist Bio

The Big Moon are the new London based band that you need to know. Having released a string of vital singles and the EP The Road, they have played many prominent slots at festivals across the world and are proving to have huge stage presence whenever they take to the stage, especially at their own headline shows. Their members include Juliette Jackson, Soph Nathann, Celia Archer and Fern Ford.

In 2017, they released their awesome debut album titled Love In The 4th Dimension. Building on their amazing live performances, the first record is an absolute triumph and hailed all across the music press and saw them receive a Mercury Prize nomination.

On all the evidence here, The Big Moon have succeeded in unearthing the secret to a fire debut.” - DIY Magazine

Their versatility and ability to channel some of the genuine peaks of the paradigm into their sound is a huge strength… Love in the 4th Dimension is a very impressive debut.” - No Ripcord

This whole album sounds like an attempt to seize and memorialise the giddy freedoms of youth. Like the best indie bands, the Big Moon sound like a gang you would want to belong to--whatever your gender.” - The Telegraph

This year, The Big Moon have returned with their incredible second album Walking Like We Do which includes the singles Your Light and Take A Piece.

By considering themes such as love, social injustice and all round perseverance, it is both mature and engaging. The Big Moon are constantly breathing new life into a genre which sometimes runs stale. For that we should be eternally grateful.” - CLASH

The Big Moon demonstrate both musical and lyrical versatility on Walking Like We Do. It might seem like a predictable move for a guitar band to unleash a keyboard-heavy album number two, but unlike other bands who have deployed this method, they don’t go so far down the wormhole that they lose their original appeal.” - Paste
