Biggest Tickets On Sale This Week: Tours, Festivals & Live Events
GLOWORM FESTIVAL 2027
When: Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2027 (Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire)
Gloworm Festival returns to Thoresby Park for 2027, following a 2026 edition that marked the festival's tenth year and drew more than 20,000 attendees. Built entirely around families with children aged 0-13, the festival operates on an all-inclusive model: one ticket covers live shows, immersive performances, workshops and fairground rides, with the only extras being food, drink and merchandise. Confirmed so far for 2027 are Phats & Small, N-Trance, Oasis tribute act Noasis and more.
"A big part of Gloworm is giving kids the chance to discover new interests and passions," says festival director Richard Walpole. "Whether it's an activity such as wrestling, getting to meet their favourite characters and freeing their imaginations with creative play, the weekend is all about making special memories." The 2027 edition carries over 2026's popular upgrades, including a later 22:00 finish, early site access for campers and bigger pitches.
HORSE JUMPER OF LOVE
When: Tuesday 3rd & Tuesday 24th November 2026 (Strange Brew, Bristol & The Grand Social, Dublin)
Horse Jumper of Love are marking ten years of their self-titled debut with headline shows performing the album in full, alongside a deluxe reissue via Run For Cover Records that adds 13 bonus tracks of B-sides, demos and alternate versions, plus a booklet of handwritten guitar tabs and archival photos. The record was written by guitarist and vocalist Dimitri Giannopoulos in his parents' basement at 19, and recorded with bassist John Margaris and drummer Jamie Vadala-Doran. It was released with such low expectations that it first surfaced quietly on Bandcamp and tape before a wider vinyl reissue the following year built its cult following — and now this anniversary edition marks where it all started.
"It's truly a slacker album in that way, one that could only have been born out of the shamelessness of being a worm," Giannopoulos says of its origins. "You put your art out because you burn to tap into some universal truth and make the world feel less alien. In hindsight, it was very pure." These shows give audiences a rare chance to hear the whole record performed live, start to finish.
THE BLACK QUEEN
When: Friday 18th December 2026 (The Grand Social, Dublin)
The Black Queen will make their Irish debut in December, as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of Fever Daydream. Formed by Greg Puciato and Steven Alexander, the band will perform their 2016 debut in full, blending electronic experimentation, industrial textures and cinematic songwriting, alongside selections from 2018's Infinite Games and previously unreleased material.
For the first time, the band will play with a full rhythm section: original Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Chris Pennie and Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle. "Steve and I planned these shows as a celebration of where we'd been, of a special time period that birthed this band that's so important to us both," says Puciato. "With the addition of Chris and Danny, they turned into an overwhelming excitement for where we're going. Getting to bring The Black Queen to Ireland for the first time makes this feel even more special."
MELIN MELYN
When: Monday 12th October 2026 (The Gate, Cardiff)
Melin Melyn will headline The Gate in Cardiff this October as part of the citywide Cardiff Music City Festival, with support from Morn, Internet Fatigue, Betsan and Farai KD. The Welsh six-piece's debut album Mill On The Hill (2025) builds a world of its own: a Seussian concept record set in the fictional Melin Village, where a cast of six millers channel their music into powering the mill on the hill, sliding between surf-rock, country, prog-rock and psychedelia along the way.
Formed in 2019 by Gruff Glyn, Will Barratt, Cai Dyfan and Garmon Rhys, the band expanded to a six-piece with Rhodri Brooks and Dylan Morgan, both established names on the Welsh music scene through their own projects. Early EPs Blomonj (2021) and Happy Gathering (2022) built a following that led to their first sold-out UK headline tour, while the 2023 single "I Paint Dogs" saw them team up with director James Bobin, best known for The Muppets and Flight of the Conchords. Their live shows, previously staged around the framing device of a fictional Cardiff supermarket, have since been praised by the Guardian.
FIREVOLT ROCK FESTIVAL 2027
When: Thursday 12th - Sunday 15th August 2027 (Whitebottom Farm, Stockport)
Firevolt Rock Festival is returning to Whitebottom Farm in Etherow Country Park for a sixth year in 2027, with tickets going on sale before a single act has been confirmed. What keeps people coming back regardless is the set-up: two covered stages, including a main stage set in a natural bowl, sized so the site never feels overpacked, alongside proper toilets, hot showers, a full bar and food and drink that's cheap without cutting corners — plus a demographic that's as comfortable for families as it is for lifers who've been coming since the start.
It's the community feel that keeps coming up as much as the bands — the kind of festival where an organiser doing a lap of the crowd on a rubber duck before headliners go on barely raises an eyebrow. This year's edition, which closed with a headline set from The Wildhearts and also featured Massive Wagons, Wednesday 13 and The Virginmarys, drew praise less for its bands than for its close-knit, volunteer-run community feel. Organisers Stret and Bev have promised the festival will keep growing "just a little bit, not too much" — a fitting outlook for an event built on staying personal.
