Excellent Performance, Great Crowd, Very Early Finish
The gig was awesome the band was amazing. The crowd and the atmosphere were great. Only down side for me was that it was very early, I missed the support and Gogol Bordello themselves were encouraged off the stage so they could make way for the club night

Gogol Bordello, Rock City, Nottingham - 16th December 2017
Bucket List Complete!
Having been a fan for years but rubbish at checking gigs out, I usually find out that Gogol Bordello have a tour just after it has finished, so this year I have finally made it and wowzer, what a treat.
After booking a BnB round the corner, we walked to the gig and treated ourselves to a reasonably priced cheeky beer (no driving for us!) in a large bar with plenty of staff and no queues.
I was asked to remove my coat (extremely high vis but very warm) so that I was not confused with the staff which was a reasonable request.
The main venue although cool was spacious enough to accomodate the largest of crowds with enough space to navigate. With enough toilets (clean and well stocked), a cloakroom and merchandise stall there was enough to keep everyone happy.
The height of the stage was excellent so that you could get a good view from any position and there is a balcony for people who do not want to get stuck in.
As for the music..... it was Gogol Bordello, pure joy from the opening note. Passion, humour, a story that led you through the music and engaged the fans. Quirky costumes that fit the performance and delivered with such gusto that even the most wilting of fans was inspired to keep going.
I was lucky to be on the front row and every now and again I turned around just to look at the grinning faces of a sweaty crowd. It was also great to see less than usual cameras pointing at a stage that should be soaked up in the retina and not a screen.
Majestic, I thank you.
