Franz Ferdinand emerged from Glasgow in 2002 and swiftly became ambassadors of post-punk revival. Their self-titled debut album Franz Ferdinand (2004) climbed to number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned iconic singles including “Take Me Out” and “The Dark of the Matinée”, both UK top 10 hits. Their follow-up You Could Have It So Much Better (2005) reached number 1 in the UK and featured major singles like “Do You Want To” and “The Fallen”. Through albums such as Tonight, Always Ascending and The Human Fear (2025), the band has retained their sharp wit, dance-floor energy and art-school edge while evolving their lineup and sound.
On stage, Franz Ferdinand are celebrated for their dynamic and electrifying live shows. They’ve headlined major UK festivals including Reading & Leeds, All Points East and Y Not, and sold out shows at venues from O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire to Glasgow’s Barrowland. Their Human Fear UK dates in early 2025 included thriving performances in London and Glasgow, with fans recalling classic tracks like “Jacqueline”, “Evil Eye” and “This Fire” lighting up the set. Bringing grounded passion, stylish groove and timeless indie brilliance, Franz Ferdinand continue to define modern British rock.
