Editors, Rock City, Nottingham - 9th October 2018

We've been big Editors fans for several years and have seen them live many times at various types of venues. They always perform their socks off. Tom is a great front man. The range of their music is incredible in how it has changed over time - simply brilliant, the place was packed and pumping

Top first gig of editors violence tour ... absolutely epic performance

Posted by darren white on 08/10/2018

Indie music is back with a vengeance, thanks to Stafford band the Editors. Formed in 2002, their complex and musically challenging alternative to the usual ‘jangling guitars’ sound often associated with Indie rock has seen them rise through the ranks and become regarded as one of the bastions of the genre. Now they’re adding to their platinum-selling albums and clutch of awards with a new release and tour dates to promote their latest album.

If you’re new to the Editors then check out the list of Editors tour dates and grab yourself a ticket from Gigantic and discover a band that genuinely lives up to the hype.

Promoting the album ‘Violence’, you can catch them at O2 Guildhall Southampton, Nottingham’s iconic Rock City and Northumbria Institute in Newcastle during October 2018.

Now is your chance to book your Editors tickets with Gigantic, we are very excited and as demand grows it makes sense to act fast and get yours before they are all taken. Gigantic makes selecting your favourite tickets and placing your order easy by enabling access to our site 24/7 using your smartphone, tablet or computer whilst relaxing at home or even busy and on the go.

Despite drawing their influence from a wide range of bands including Echo & The Bunnymen, Joy Division, The Strokes, Elbow and R.E.M., the Editors have managed to develop a unique sound that blends rich, layered and surprisingly complex movements interspersed with rousing choruses. While the riffs and synth blends may be complicated and even a little convoluted at times, the lyrics are simple, direct and connect easily with audiences.

Their five albums to date have all done remarkably well, with two hitting platinum and combined sales in the millions. Their debut album ‘The Back Room’ was so highly regarded that it received a Mercury Prize nomination. The follow-up album ‘An End Has a Start’ reached number 1 in the UK charts and garnered the band a Brit Award nomination.

‘Violence’ is the sixth album from Editors and follows 2015’s acclaimed top 5 ‘In Dream’. It is produced by Leo Abrahams (Wild Beasts, Florence & The Machine, Frightened Rabbit) and Editors with additional production from Benjamin John Power (Blanck Mass, Fuck Buttons) and mixed by Cenzo Townshend, except ‘Hallelujah (So Low)’ mixed by Alan Moulder.

We are really excited to be able to offer you Editors concert tickets, but as we only have limited supplies you really will have to act fast and book before they are all snatched up. Gigantic has a well-earned reputation for being the best place to choose from a wide range of essential gig tickets and providing excellent customer service, and so we have been bestowed the Nottingham Post illustrious ‘Retail Business of the Year 2017’. So, you know we are the right place to come whenever you are booking your big night out.
