Very impressed with Definitely Oasis at the Boiler Room in Guildford on Saturday night. They managed to capture the sound of Oasis impeccably, from the vocal tones of their Liam and Noel to the guitars, bass and even the drum sound. Close your eyes and it could easily be the real thing. The attention to detail for hardcore fans was spot-on, from tape samples (F**kin' In The Bushes Intro and that loop at the end of Rock 'N' Roll Star) to the live ad-libs ("Take two sugars in my tea"). On top of that, the guys' own natural charisma still shone through which elevated the performance and overall sense of fun and celebration. The setlist was finely crafted to include every hit you'd expect, bejazzled with a smattering of b-sides and album tracks that left the true fans ecstatic, such as Fade Away, Talk Tonight and Half A World Away. The cherry on the cake - whether down to the nature of the tribute audience or the home counties setting - was a crowd devoid of the aggression and football hooligan vibe you're typically faced with at an Oasis show. Friendly, polite and affable, there was more prosecco flowing than lager and I didn't have a single pint thrown over me, which was appreciated!
