David Byrne is most known as the beloved frontman and guitarist of new wave icons, Talking Heads.
The Scottish-born American singer is praised for his ground-breaking musical style, which married punk with new wave and incorporated Afrobeat rhythms. Talking Heads went on to become one of the most influential bands of all time, with smash classics such as "Once In A Lifetime", "Life During Wartime", "Psycho Killer", "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody"), and many, many more.
After the group dissolved, Byrne went on to form an eclectic solo career, introducing his audiences to different influences of world music. His most recent solo endeavour, Who Is The Sky? (2025) features collaborations with Paramore's Hayley Williams and is a groove-laced meditation on the idiosyncrasies of mundane, everyday living, and has received widespread critical acclaim.
The event is taking place at The Piece Hall, Halifax. See individual listings for full venue details.
