Crosa Rosa are a Nottingham based three-piece psyche grunge band that brings together drummer Kegan Clark, guitarist and singer Joe Weatherall with Joe Fisher on bass who look set to make 2016 their year. Having already been tipped by Fred Perry Subculture and featuring prominently in their New Noise article the band will soon be featured in a live video on their website.
With huge walls of noise from heavily distorted guitars, insanely catchy riffs powered by pneumatically strong drum beats, their gigs have set venues alight with wild shows exciting frenzied fans.
They have come a long way having started just over a year ago and have already amassed an exciting back catalogue that caught the attention of the independent music press. Their debut EP Pantophobia was dubbed by Drowned In Sound as “ one of the most exciting releases out there at the minute
”. They opened the year with the release of the blistering new single Simpler Smiler. Lasting just over two minutes, the song opens with a creepy paranoid inducing intro before launching into a lacerating verse riff and the best chorus hook you’ve ever heard.
The band featured heavily at the recent Dot To Dot Festival where they played at Manchester, Bristol and twice in Nottingham being invited to bring the massive weekend to a close at a secret set in Bodega Social. The closing secret set sent the attending fans crazy who responded to the wild music by making ten-foot-high stage dives from leaping off the amps.
