Corey Taylor is the front of nu-metal legends Slipknot and the huge heavy rock band Stone Sour. The hard rock superstar has been voted the 7th greatest heavy metal front by NME and has been discovered to possess one of the highest vocal octave ranges in popular music. Known affectionately as “The great big mouth” he is versatile and extremely talented being able to hold emotional harmonies, sing the blues or bark out his unique death metal scream.
Taylor is perhaps most famous for his work with the absolutely massive nu-metal band Slipknot. He joined the band as a replacement to their original vocalist, Anders Colsefni, in 1997 after being recruited for his amazing vocal talent and sheer violent disregard for his own well being. Known as Number 8, the extreme imagery and rampant brash musical assault of the band perfectly resonated with his temperament and skill. Whereas other bands are just about the music, Slipknot are a culture whose violent imagery, insane costumes and relentless thrash guitars are a mirror reflecting how they see the modern world.
Taylor is also a founding member of the awesome band Stone Sour. Starting the band in 1992, the debut album was finally released in 2002 when he returned to the band after the meteoric rise of Slipknot. Stone Sour have produced five awesome studio albums and earned legions of fans all over the world.
