Breton composer whose poetic instrumental world-building spans folk intimacy and cinematic ambition.
If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Yann Tiersen below.
Yann Tiersen is a Breton composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music drifts between folk intimacy, modern classical textures and subtle electronics. Known for evocative melodies and a deep sense of place, he crafts pieces that feel both handcrafted and cinematic. A landmark moment in his catalogue is Amélie (Original Soundtrack) (2001), whose accordion, piano and toy-instrument motifs introduced his sound to a worldwide audience.
Beyond film, Tiersen’s records explore quietly radical ideas in tone and texture. EUSA (2016) maps solo-piano miniatures to locations on his home island of Ushant, creating an immersive portrait in sound; more recently, Kerber (2021) folds minimal piano patterns into processed, lattice-like electronics. On stage — whether solo or with ensemble — he tends to favour immersive listening and close-up detail over spectacle, drawing audiences into the same reflective world his recordings inhabit.
Ticket prices may vary depending on venue and location. Full pricing details are available on each individual event page.
