Wishbone Ash, The Flowerpot, Derby - 31st October 2019

I have been listening to Wishbone Ash since 1973. I have seen them live several times, the first time in 1977 and recently at The Flowerpot. A great little venue and a brilliant set by Andy and the guys. I swear the band gets better with age. I thoroughly enjoyed the night and looking forward to seeing them again soon. Here's to the next 50 years!

Prog rockers Wishbone Ash have always been on the edge of invention. Pioneering not only their own sound, but the future sound of rock.

The band members currently include guitarists Andy Powell and Muddy Manninen who also share vocals. Drummer Joe Crabtree and bassist Bob who also provides vocals.

See them on their 50th Anniversary tour on which they will play The Flowerpot in Derby on Thursday 31st of October 2019.

Wishbone Ash tickets can be yours by booking through Gigantic. But act fast as they will sell quickly.

Highly innovative, Wishbone Ash were amongst the first to use two lead guitars and were the driving force behind the harmony twin lead guitar format prompting Powell and former member Ted Turner to be voted as two of the Ten Most Important Guitarists In Rock History by Traffic Magazine and were ranked in the Top 20 Guitarists Of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.

The band were bound a shared love of progressive rock, folk and classical. They formed late in October 1969 and due to their sheer talent would be the support band for Deep Purple the following year. 1970 also marked the release of their eponymously titled debut album which promptly shot to #3 in the charts.

The album caught the attention of the press and the adoration of audiences around the world. And after the release of further albums Pilgrimage, Argus and Wishbone Four began to play major international headline shows.

To date, Wishbone Ash have released twenty-five studio albums and continue to record new material.

Both concert and festival tickets are always limited so be sure to book early with Gigantic to avoid disappointment.
