When Chai Met Toast are an Indian indie-pop band known for their effervescent melodies, multilingual lyrics, and genre-blending sound. Hailing from Chennai, the duo Achyuth Jaigopal (vocals, guitar) and Rohan Nayak (vocals, keys) combine elements of indie pop, folk, and electronic music with Hindi, Tamil, and English lyrics, crafting songs that are both uplifting and globally resonant. Their music is characterised by breezy arrangements, bright instrumentation, and warm harmonies, offering listeners a feel-good, sun-soaked sonic experience.
Since forming in 2016, When Chai Met Toast have released their debut album When We Feel Young (2021) and the soundtrack Citadel Honey Bunny (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2024). Their vibrant, genre-defying approach has earned them a dedicated fanbase across India and beyond. Celebrated for cheerful yet thoughtful songwriting, the band continues to bring optimism, creativity, and a uniquely global perspective to indie pop.
