Manchester-based quartet Westside Cowboy emerged from lo-fi jams in drummer Paddy Murphy’s bedroom to become one of the UK’s most exciting new acts. Their sound, dubbed “Britainicana,” blends the melodic precision of Teenage Fanclub with the slacker cool of Pavement, infused with elements of country and early rock’n’roll.
In April 2025, they won Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition, earning a £5,000 Talent Development prize and a coveted slot on the Woodsies Stage at Glastonbury Festival. Their debut single, “I’ve Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You),” released in November 2024, charted in the UK Top 10 Vinyl Chart. Following this success, they announced their debut EP, This Better Be Something Great (August 2025).
