Tom Morello is living proof of the transformative power of rock ’n’ roll. Renowned for his innovative guitar playing, he has redefined what the instrument can do through thunderous riffs, radical effects and techniques that mimic turntable scratching. Working across hard rock, funk and rap-metal, Morello’s unmistakable sound helped shape some of the most influential rock music of the past three decades, combining technical innovation with raw power and urgency.
He is best known as a founding member of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, two bands responsible for multiple Grammy Awards and more than 30 million albums sold worldwide. His guitar work has also featured in Prophets of Rage, Street Sweeper Social Club and The Atlas Underground, alongside a six-year tenure with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. A committed left-wing activist and Harvard graduate, Morello has long used his platform to champion human and workers’ rights. In 2011, he released his solo album World Wide Rebel Songs, further cementing his reputation as an artist whose music and message are inseparable.
