Fuzz-drenched psych-rock storytelling shaped by heart, craft and true DIY spirit.
The Bevis Frond is the long-running psychedelic rock project of London-born songwriter, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Nick Saloman, celebrated for his emotional lyricism, fuzz-soaked guitar work and fiercely independent spirit. Emerging in the mid-eighties with home-recorded cult classics like Miasma (1987) and Inner Marshland (1987), Saloman quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the UK’s neo-psych revival. Mixing introspective songwriting with sprawling solos, jangling melodies and a distinctly DIY ethos, The Bevis Frond built a dedicated global following through prolific releases that blended sixties-inspired psychedelia with grunge, indie rock and reflective folk.
Live, The Bevis Frond expand into a full band, transforming Saloman’s intimate recordings into powerful, electrifying performances. Albums such as New River Head (1991), London Stone (1991) and later works including We’re Your Friends, Man (2018) and Little Eden (2021) highlight Saloman’s remarkable consistency and songwriting depth across decades. With a catalogue spanning dozens of albums and a reputation for heartfelt, unpretentious musicianship, The Bevis Frond remain one of the most enduring and influential cult acts in British psychedelic rock.
