Additional information

Formed in 1993, the Scottish-American band made up of Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and revered 90s producer Butch Vig, have achieved massive worldwide success and have sold millions of albums across the globe.

After three decades of music, they are heralded as one of the most influential bands of their generation and have seen near universal critical acclaim.

The band’s eighth studio album Let All That We Imagine Be The Light, released earlier this year, was expansive, explosive and was released to a rapturous response, with some calling it their best album since their debut.

In its interview with Shirley Manson when the album was released, the New York Times described Manson as the Godmother of Rock.

Garbage’s show at Edinburgh Castle is part of the band’s year-long return to performing, having done shows across North America, New Zealand and Australia this year, with dates across the UK in 2026.

Shirley Manson said: “Bringing my band home for what most likely will be our last headline show in Scotland, feels both poignant and triumphant. It’s a full circle moment for me and it means the world. To be asked to grace the stage with Edinburgh Castle as our backdrop will be, without doubt, one of the greatest honours of my professional career”.
