Nashville-based singer-songwriter whose soulful voice and poetic storytelling blend Americana, folk, and country influences.
Born into a musical family in Athol, Massachusetts, Sean McConnell began songwriting at the age of ten and self-released his first album, Faces, when he was just fifteen. Over the years he’s issued a rich catalogue of albums—including Saints, Thieves, Liars (2010), Midland (2012), Sean McConnell (2016), Secondhand Smoke (2019), A Horrible Beautiful Dream (2021) and most recently Skin (2025). As a songwriter, he’s penned songs for a wide range of artists including Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Brett Young—and even contributed to the TV series Nashville.
Sean has toured the UK multiple times, both as a support act and as a headliner. In early 2020 he performed in venues such as Bristol’s The Crofters Rights, Glasgow’s Poetry Club and London’s St Pancras Old Church. He later returned for eight headline shows around the UK in February 2022, covering cities like Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and London’s Omeara. Known for live performances that are at once powerful and intimate, he blends dynamic full-band sets with acoustic “pin-drop” moments that centre on the song and the story.
