Sam Fender was amazing. He definitely played God with the audience, they clearly worshipped him. Fantastic stage presence from the whole band. Definitely one to see again.

Sam Fender , Rock City, Nottingham - 26th November 2019

What a great performer who made a brilliant atmosphere helped by talking with the audience in between songs. There was a lot of energy in the room and I’m so glad to see him close up at a standing venue. Only way he could have improved it would be to have played more songs. Would definitely go to see him again but would probably be somewhere more soulless as I’m sure he’ll play bigger venues next time round!

Awesome performances - but venue too packed - seemed dangerously over-booked.

Artist Bio

Newcomer Sam Fender immediately grabbed widespread media attention with his ‘No Shit Taken’ attitude. Having first proved himself with his powerful debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’, he now returns with his essential second record 'Seventeen Going Under' and looks set to take on the entire world!

Sam Fender has grown up in an environment laden with certain preconceptions about young people… Hailing from Newcastle, he's seen people of his generation work hard to get where they are, and he's seen broader society refuse to acknowledge that." - CLASH

Young songwriter Sam Fender first burst onto the scene with the release of his awesome first single ‘Play God’.

Sam 21 year old singer songwriter, Sam Fender, is about to hit the big time. Releasing his debut single last month, “Play God” is an instant indie-rock anthem that you won’t be able to stop listening to. With powerful vocals reminiscent of Matt Corby and Hozier, it’s an explosive and hypnotising track describing a dystopian world." - Wonderland

It was followed by edgy blues informed rock song ‘Millennial’ which continues to thrill the critics on his way up to becoming the next big thing.

'Millennial' is a tongue-in-cheek response to the media's negative portrayal of young people in the 21st century. It plays on the notion that we (millennials) are 'young and dumb' freeloading idiots that expect a hand out from society. It plays on issues such as fake news and our addiction to screens and social media." - Sam Fender

In 2019, Fender dropped his wildly successful first album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ which was a huge success at the charts, hitting No. 1 and proving the be one of the most important records of the year.

This is a debut album that cements Fender’s place at the golden table: the perfect first attempt." - The Line Of Best Fit

Now, Sam Fender once again proves why he is heralded as the voice of the new generation with superb second record 'Seventeen Going Under'.

His debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ scratched gently at the surface of a songwriter of real detail and skill, but second time around he digs real deep for a wiser, weightier record stuffed with sax-soaked rock epics that touch on life and death, love and heartbreak, rage and regret." - NME
