Skindred

The raw ragga band won "Best Live Band" at the 2011 UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards

Led by singer Benji Webbe, Skindred are the powerful Welsh heavy metal band drawing on ragga, hardcore punk and nu-metal influences. Based in Newport, the group has a massive presence in America, thanks to their hard-hitting debut album Babylon which topped the US reggae charts in 2002. Last year saw the release of their eighth album Smile on Earache Records which coincided with the band’s 25 anniversary.

Gentleman's Dub Club vs. The Skints

The unmissable dub n’ punk mash up!

Gentleman's Dub Club are a high-energy fusion of dub, ska, and electronica. The nine-piece Leeds-based band are a festival favourite, having thrilled audiences at Glastonbury, Bestival, V Festival, and Secret Garden Party. The albums include titles The Big Smoke  (2015), Dubtopia  (2017) and Down To Earth  (2021) which all smashed into the iTunes Top 40 reggae charts.

They will be joined by London’s finest punk reggae group The Skints, whose riotous sound can be heard on the Part & Parcel (2012), FM (2015) and Swimming Lessons (2019) records.

James Arthur

Enjoy classic hits and new songs from the No. 1 pop singer

Winner of the ninth series of The X Factor, Middlesbrough-born pop singer James Arthur is best known for the smash hit singles "Say You Won't Let Go", "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You" and “Impossible” (a Shontelle cover). The multi-BRIT nominee has broken the Top 10 with all four of his albums, including the No. 1 record Back from the Edge which dropped in 2016. This year sees the release of his eagerly awaited new record Bitter Sweet Love.

Placebo

See Brian Molko and co. play a career spanning show at Bristol Sounds

When Placebo exploded onto the scene in the mid-90s, their high-speed punk rock riffs and androgynous image was totally at odds with the prevailing retro Britpop sound and baggy laddish culture. Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal dared to talk openly about the gritty reality of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll, as heard on singles “Nancy Boy”, “Taste In Men” and "Bruise Pristine". They have reached platinum certification with their self-titled debut album in 1996, plus subsequent records Without You I'm Nothing (1998), Sleeping with Ghosts (2003) and Meds (2006).

The Breeders

The true sound of the underground playing in Bristol

Alt rock legends The Breeders are led by twin sister Kelley and Kim Deal, the latter also famous for being the original bassist of iconic alternative band PIXIES. The group is best known for their huge anthem “Cannonball”, as featured on the 1993 platinum selling album Last Splash. Darlings of the underground, they are adored by the critics and were amongst Kurt Cobain’s favourite bands.
