The lads did a great job. Missing a few classics that could have extended the set by a bit but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bristol Sounds - Manic Street Preachers, Canons Marsh Amphitheatre, Bristol Harbourside - 22nd June 2017

My two favourite bands of the last 25 years on the same bill, and an opening set from one of my favourite discoveries of the last couple. The Anchoress played an excellent set to a slowly filling crowd, but was rightly well received. British Sea Power were as brilliant as ever, and even with a truncated timeslot still managed to pack in crowd pleasers from across their career. Their infamous dancing bears livened up the audience too. The Manics didn't play it safe and just do the hits. A nice smattering of lesser known (to the masses) album cuts interspersed the classics that most people had turned up for. A nice setting for live music, and the sound held up well in the occasionally swirling breeze coming off of the harbour. All in all, a hugely enjoyable night.

A band who lost a pivitol member 22 years ago... went on to have greater success.. last night rocked Bristol Harbourside... yes there were moments that Rickie would of thought WTF... but to hear the whole crowd scream WELUV US... well right up his street... MSP still got it and long may the mania reign...

Bonobo smashed it. Ace sounds, ace visuals and great atmosphere in the sun.
