GORILLAZ – ‘Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez

Back in 1998, who would have predicted that bur singer Damon Albarn would team up with renegade comic book artist Jamie Hewlett to form the world’s very first virtual band Gorillaz? While many initially scoffed at the sheer lunacy of the idea, it’s brought us such huge hit bangers as ‘Clint Eastwood’, ‘Feel Good Inc.’, ‘Dare’ and ‘Dirty Harry’.

The weird and wonderful surprises keep on coming as the latest Gorillaz project sees Hewlett and Albarn reach out to their A-list showbiz mates with a serialised album including contributions from the likes of Elton John, Kano, slowthai, St. Vincent and The Cure’s Robert Smith, the first of which is compiled in ‘Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez’.

Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez’ is now available on Limited Edition Neon Orange Vinyl, Deluxe Double Vinyl with the option of a Bundle containing both. Gorillaz celebrate the release with a huge show at The O2 Arena next year, and we can’t help but wonder which familiar faces will also be gracing the stage.

Gorillaz tickets are released at 09:00 on Friday 06/11.

Nothing But Thieves return with their intense third album Moral Panic’ – which many are calling their best yet! Recruiting ace producer Mike Crossey (The 1975/Wolf Alice) and recorded in L.A., their new LP explores politics through the lens of the many crises afflicting the world today and the polarising effect it is having on the people.

I was at home, it’s time to write about something new. I basically ended up studying Twitter like a bible and diving deep into what people were saying. Climate change, Brexit, Trump, it’s all in there. It’s mainly about the effect on the people though, it splits you into extremes, social media does it on purpose. I wanted to capture the tribalism and how unpleasant a place it is. It was tough to do, but it’s given us a great album.” – Joe Langridge-Brown

Moral Panic’ is out now via Sony on Limited Edition Neon Yellow vinyl!

Catch Nothing But Thieves at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Saturday 16th of October 2021 where they will be showcasing their new material plus playing the songs you love from their back catalogue.

Nothing But Thieves tickets are currently available.

The Boss is back! With US facing so much strife, division and growing inequality under the Trump administration, it was only a matter of time that Bruce Springsteen would clap back. ‘Letter To You’ is his twelfth album which turns the political into the personal, and explores a broken America where the dream has been forgotten through twelve intimate songs detailing the emotional impact on individuals faced with struggle.

I love the emotional nature of ‘Letter To You’. And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we’ve never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I’ve ever had.” – Bruce Springsteen

Letter To You’ is released today via Columbia on CD, Limited Edition Grey Double Vinyl and a Bundle containing both.
