So, you’ve scoured Gigantic for the perfect festival or outdoor show with the best line-up and booked your tickets. You’re all ready to go right? Make sure you read through our Guide to Outdoor Gigs with a few tips and good ideas on what to bring to make sure you have a wonderful experience that you’ll never want to forget!

Bits & Pieces

Not all outdoor events will have cash machines on site or may have issues accepting cards when making purchases. So, it’s a good idea to take some money with you, just in case. Want to keep it safe? Get yourself a Bum Bag to keep your purse/wallet plus all your little nick-nacks and essential items near to hand.

Whether you’re a fresh face on the festival scene or young at heart, it’s always worth bringing some form of ID. You’ll need it if you are collecting tickets from the box office, plus you may need it when buying that perfect pint at the bar.

Home Sweet Home

It might be obvious to you if you’re camping, but we can guarantee that there will always be someone who forgets to bring a Tent. And no matter how hot it is during the day, make sure you bring a sleeping bag for when it gets chilly at night. A foam groundsheet or inflatable mattress (don’t forget your pump!) will make the nights so much better when you need to crash. Plus, ear plugs and an eye masks are a great idea too!

Ready For Anything

When it comes to the British weather, it’s always best to expect the unexpected. So, you really should listen to your mum and pack a sexy cagoule or waterproof clothing plus some stylish wellies, practical shoes or boots just in case.

A little sun cream goes a long way when the sun is shining. Plus, a cool hat and sunglasses are essential. Don’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle – stay hydrated people!

Power To The People

Summer gigs and festivals are perfect for the ‘gram, but those batteries are going to run out real fast. Make sure to take a fully charged power bank so you can keep in contact with your festival buddies and continue making your mates at home well jel.

If you love a good mosh pit – it might be worth taking a festival phone that you don’t mind getting bashed up or even losing. And maybe take a torch with you to avoid tripping on those pesky tent guy ropes at night.

Keep It Clean!

Festivals can be dirt magnets, and do you really want to be eating with your hands after popping to the loos? Make sure you bring plenty of anti-bacterial handwash to keep your mitts clean. If you’re camping and don’t have access to a shower, then baby wipes and dry shampoo are your best friends. Two or three days without toothpaste and/or mouthwash doesn’t bear thinking about. And only the bravest souls or biggest fools would dare attend an overnight event without their own secret stash of loo roll!

And remember: it’s just as important to keep our cities and countrysides clean, so bring bin liners to tidy your campsite and always take your tent home to restore the great outdoors to its natural beauty.
