Mount Street Studios would like to invite you to the second ever Mount Street Sessions. After the success of our first show in December, we thought it was about time to get another one in the diary. On Friday 23rd August, we will be opening our doors to the public and showcasing some of the Nottingham’s finest musicians.

DOORS: 19:00. FIRST ACT: 19:30.

Bring your own drinks but make sure to take advantage of one complimentary glass of wine on the house!

So, who’s playing?

The first act that we’re delighted to share with you has taken the Nottingham music scene in his stride. At just 18 years old, Remy has already won the Notts Factor 2018 Final, won and played at Rock City for the Future Sound of Nottingham 2019 and played on the Main Stage at Splendour Festival 2019 - a staggering amount of success in a brief musical career. Remy has a repertoire of catchy rock/pop bangers and we can guarantee that you’ll be blown away by his vocal.

For fans of: Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, John Mayer.

Now here’s a guy that is rapidly turning heads on the local scene. A lot of fans of Nottingham music are backing Jerub to take his soulful vocal and powerful collection of songs a long way. On the back of his debut single ‘Paint Me In Gold’ (which by the way, already has over 44,000 streams on Spotify), Jerub recently played to a rapt audience at BBC Introducing’s Metronome gig. We feel lucky to host such a special artist so early on in his career.

For fans of: Jacob Banks, Jack Garratt, Rag’n’Bone Man.

Laurie Illingworth

Laurie is one of our own. A well known face in Nottingham for his role at Nottinham’s biggest open mic night, Acoustic Rooms (every Monday 8-12 at Rescue Rooms), Laurie recently played his first ever full band show at the Courtyard Stage at Splendour Festival. It sounded absolutely HUGE and he’ll be showcasing some of the tunes for us on the 23rd on our magnificent Steinway piano. A treat for the eyes and ears.

For fans of: Bon Iver, James Blake, Chris Martin.

This show is a special one because we’ll be running the event alongside our partners at the Harley Jae Trust.

The Harley Jae Trust was established in 2006 as a trust fund for a little boy, Harley Jae Blanchard-Rafter. He was born with a very rare neurological condition that left him with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe epilepsy and physically disabled. Harley’s condition meant that he needed high level medical care, therapy treatment and equipment to give him the best possible opportunity to thrive and maintain a good quality of life, which is an on-going battle for children with life limiting and life changing conditions and their families. In Harley’s memory, the trust has now become a registered charity with an aim to be able to provide vital equipment for children with life limiting and life changing conditions. The trust also make donations to services such as schools, hospital wards and children’s hospice’s.

We hope you can join us! Any enquiries, just let us know.
