MIKA (Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr.) is a pop singer-songwriter celebrated for his theatrical flair, widescreen melodies and unmistakable voice. He rose to prominence in (2006) with the release of “Relax, Take It Easy”, before reaching number one the same year with the breakout single “Grace Kelly”. Blending pop, glam and classical influences, his music is marked by bold hooks, emotional openness and a playful sense of drama that helped him stand out on the global stage.
His debut album Life in Cartoon Motion (2007) introduced a colourful, high-energy sound that became instantly recognisable, followed by The Boy Who Knew Too Much (2009), The Origin of Love (2012) and No Place in Heaven (2015), each expanding his musical palette while retaining a strong melodic core. Later releases include My Name Is Michael Holbrook (2019), which leaned into personal storytelling, and the soundtrack album Zodi & Téhu, frères du désert (2023). Across his career, MIKA has remained a distinctive pop voice, balancing exuberance with vulnerability and creative ambition.
