Swedish singer-songwriter José González has built a distinctive career on subtle songwriting, intricate fingerpicking and a voice that draws listeners in without ever needing to shout. Since the release of his debut album Veneer (2003), he has become best known for songs including “Heartbeats”, while later records such as In Our Nature (2007), Vestiges & Claws(2015) and Local Valley (2021) have steadily expanded his sound. In 2023, he marked 20 years of Veneer with a deluxe anniversary edition.
He now returns with Against The Dying Of The Light (2026), his fifth solo studio album, previewed by “Pajarito” and the title track. The new material brings fresh urgency to his thoughtful, melodic writing, while live it sits naturally alongside favourites from across his catalogue.
