About Gorillaz

Gorillaz are a genre-bending virtual band formed by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. Since their debut in the early 2000s, they've blended alternative rock, hip-hop, electronic and pop into a sound that’s as inventive as it is infectious. Their self-titled album Gorillaz (2001) introduced the world to animated members 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel, with follow-ups like Demon Days (2005) and Plastic Beach (2010) cementing their place as pioneers in modern music. Tracks like “Clint Eastwood”, “Feel Good Inc.” and “On Melancholy Hill” have become defining songs of the era.

On stage, Gorillaz are a force to be reckoned with. They’ve headlined Glastonbury and performed stand-out sets at festivals including All Points East and Boomtown. Known for their ambitious live visuals and huge guest line-ups, they’ve shared stages with the likes of De La Soul and Little Simz, and supported Blur-era fans while carving their own identity. Constantly evolving, their more recent albums Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez (2020) and Cracker Island (2023) continue to push boundaries and surprise fans with every release.
