Additional information

David Duchovny has spent the last decade steadily building a body of work as a songwriter and recording artist, working with a small and dedicated group of musicians and friends. On Prince of Pieces, his fourth album, that dedication and those longtime relationships come together to create his most cohesive, collaborative and intimate work yet.

Duchovny’s work across film, television, writing and music reflects a broader creative drive that has taken shape over time. He has authored multiple books, hosts the podcast “Fail Better” and tours globally, with songwriting remaining a consistent part of his output. As the Telegraph notes, he’s a “likeable polymath [who] delivers some fine, weighty songs.”

“Music and art can lead you to some pretty interesting places,” admits Colin Lee, one of a trio of musicians (alongside Mitchell Stewart and Pat McCusker) who have been a part of Duchovny’s musical journey since his debut album, 2015’s Hell or Highwater. “We all have a lot of fun playing together, and David’s lyrics paint a lot of cool imagery.”
