Chesney Hawkes is the voice behind five-week UK number one "The One and Only", now bringing the most personal pop-rock of his career to the stage.
Chesney Hawkes was just 19 when he landed the lead role in the 1991 film Buddy's Song, starring alongside Roger Daltrey. Its Nik Kershaw-penned centrepiece, "The One and Only", climbed to number one in the UK and stayed there for five weeks, before cracking the US top ten too. More than three decades on, it's still the kind of song that gets a whole room singing every word.
Now back in the UK after years in Los Angeles, Chesney made Living Arrows (2025) with producer and co-writer Jake Gosling, known for his work with Ed Sheeran and One Direction. It's his most personal record yet, pairing candid songwriting with big pop-rock hooks, and features his old friend Nik Kershaw and brother Jodie. Singles "Get A Hold Of Yourself", "Live Forever" and "Loud!" all made the BBC Radio 2 playlist, the album was named Radio 2's Album of the Week, and he performed in the station's Piano Room. He's also played arenas across Europe as special guest to James Blunt. Expect a warm, feel-good show full of fresh songs and, of course, that famous chorus.
