AGMP presents
+ special guests: FAY HALLAM
Buddy Curtess and the Grasshoppers were a Rock 'n' Soul group who dominated the live music scene in the 1980's and were named Time Out Magazine's best live band for 2 years running.
They toured with Roy Orbison and supported The Beach Boys at Wembley Arena. They also played alongside The Cure, The Stranglers, BB King, Bo Diddley, and Eddie Floyd amongst many others.
Buddy Curtess and the Grasshoppers were regularly on TV appearing on 'The Tube', 'Saturday Night Live', 'Jools Holland’s Hogmanay' and more.
After a sold out reunion concert in 2018, the band are back together again for one last show.
Fay Hallam is a hugely respected Hammond organist, singer and songwriter who first came to prominence in Mod-Pop group Makin' Time, in the early 1980's, along with a pre- The Charlatans' Martin Blunt.
Fay then formed The Prime Movers. along with Graham Day and Allan Crockford of The Prisoners. After this, Fay has gone on to make over 10 albums, as Phaze, The Fay Hallam Trinity, and then as a solo artist.
Fay's current incarnation, The Fay Hallam Group, comprising of ex-Paul Wellercollaborator Andy Lewis on bass, her son Josh Day on piano, Kieran McAleer on drums, Jim Bishop on guitar, and the brand new brass section of Angus Law on sax and Kenneth Yarham on trumpet, have just released their latest album, "Propeller".
Wendy May's Locomotion ran at the Town & Country Club in Kentish Town every Friday night where Wendy and DJ's Norman Cook, Andy Lewis, Phil Jupitus and Jane Wilkes played classic old soul and original R&B to a packed audience.
