Blood Incantation are an American death metal band from Denver, Colorado, known for merging brutal heaviness with expansive, atmospheric and progressive ideas. Formed in (2011), the band quickly distinguished themselves within the extreme metal underground by pairing cavernous riffs and cosmic themes with ambitious song structures and a fascination with science fiction, space and the unknown. Their sound draws from classic death metal while embracing elements of psychedelia, ambient music and experimental composition, giving their work a sense of scale and immersion beyond genre convention.
Their albums Starspawn (2016) and Hidden History of the Human Race (2019) cemented their reputation as innovators, earning widespread acclaim for balancing technical ferocity with conceptual depth. Alongside their core death metal output, the band have also explored fully ambient territory, further underlining their refusal to be creatively boxed in. Renowned for intense and hypnotic live performances, Blood Incantation have become one of modern metal’s most forward-thinking and influential bands, pushing the genre toward new cosmic horizons.
