If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Vega below.
VEGA are a fab band that should be seen by more people. They were phenomenal as usual and put on a show despite facing challenges to run this tour. They did not disappoint and I keep waiting for their big break. Both VEGA and Gin Annie played a great show and these bands do not disappoint so if they come to town please go to watch! That said however I cannot review the experience without mentioning the venue which had the potential to spoil the last night of VEGA's run. I regularly travel to gigs with one or two friends who are wheelchair users and 9/10 times this has no impact to the enjoyment of our group. Sadly Saturday 30th September was the 1/10 times that it did. We always try to arrive before doors to secure a front row spot. We did the same at The Foundry and watched Gin Annie open. Between Gin Annie and VEGA there was an 'incident' with one of the security staff which coloured our evening rather negatively. This seems to have started with a simple misunderstanding. A few people had pulled chairs up to the front and were asked to either return them or move to a specially provided raised area. Then the security staff saw my friends (well one of the two) and demanded that she move. There was a discussion which escalated and resulted in the security staff member swearing at my friend and then laying hands on her and her chair and saying that she'd be removed of she didn't comply. This was raised to the security supervisor and fortunately resolved but it rather upset my friend for at least the first half of the show and also impacted those in the vicinity who witnessed the incident. We "got over it" but I can't in good conscience not mention this experience as it should not be allowed to be repeated.
