About The Appleseed Cast
The Appleseed Cast are playing in the UK. Their music is heavily inspired by emo but with its experimental sound, inventive techniques and use of a vast array of effect pedals it could also be said to derive influence from post rock.
The band is made up of guitarist Tayor Holenbeck, vocalist Chris Crisci also plays guitar, drummer Nathan Wilder and Nate Whitman on bass.
Formed in Southern California during 1997, the band originally went under the name December’s Tragic Drive. Shortly after changing their name their current title the band signed to Deep Elm and released The End Of The Ring Wars, their debut album the following year.
In 1999 they relocated as a band to Kansas and released their second album, Mare Vitalis.
Late 2000 saw the band embark on their most ambitious project to date; a double album split into two halves to be released separately. The unorthodox release method also saw the band delve into more complicated song structures and experimental techniques resulting in a creative high for the band that was greatly appreciated by the fans. Low Level Owl Volume One was released in August 2001, Volume Two followed in October the same year.
2002 saw them complete their contract with Deep Elm with the release of the album Lost Songs featuring previously unfinished tracks first developed just after the release of their first album.
The band have continued to develop and have released four more stunning albums; Two Conversations (2003), Peregrine (2006), Sagarmatha (2009) and Illumination Ritual (2013).
