About Mark Pontin Group
After the success of their debut album, 'Days Of Destiny', British Blues Awards Finalists Mark Pontin Group knew to follow it would require something special. Ideas and concepts began to emerge in the summer of 2014, and after three weeks of recording in early 2015, the resulting album, 'Textures' is an exceptional successor to the critically acclaimed debut.
A contemporary blues/rock album, 'Textures' manages to combine traditional blues influences with strong songwriting and exemplary musicianship, leading to tunes that get stuck in your head, with radio friendly hooks alongside soaring guitar lines, full of feel.
The band hit the road in support of 'Textures', still utilising their unique approach, pushing to expand through improvisation and take the songs further than the recording would allow, maintaining the hooks and searching for new horizons. No two nights are the same, and with the core of Mark Pontin ( guitar/ vocals ) , Alun Walters ( bass/ vocals), joined by explosive new drummer Dafydd Davies and the addition of keyboard/vocalist Ayesha makes the Mark Pontin Group live show not to be missed.
