About Rinocerose

Rinôçérôse are a French band from Montpellier that fuse rock with dance music. The band has played all over the world, touring Europe, America and Japan exciting audiences the world over. Constantly pushing themselves as artists, their ambition knows no bounds and they continue to grow.

Starting in 1994, the project was the brainchild of Patrice Carrié and Jean-Philippe Freu who were looking to harmonise the magic of house and pop with the energy of rock music as seen with the release of the debut album Retrospective in 1997.

They shot to international fame with the release of Installation Sonore in 1999. The album was centred around house beats but also contains some killer guitars riffs. Featuring the single Le Mobilier, the album was a big hit in the world of dance music. Their reputation was further enhanced with the release of the amazing album Music Kills Me in 2002.

The album Schizophonia came out in 2005 and marked a change in the band’s direction by including more vocals and adapting more of a rock sound. It featured the vocal talents of Bnann from Infadels, Mark Gardeneer from Ride, Luke Paterson of Deaf Stereo and Anna Muchin from Cobson. The change in style was rewarded with a rise in success and the song Cubicle was used as the soundtrack to the Apple advertising campaign for iTunes and the iPod. The release of their album Futurinô in 2009 saw a continued rise in that success.
