About Jeff Angell's Staticland

Jeff Angell’s Staticland is snarling blues rock at its best. Raucous in tone, the album sees Angell draw on dream imagery and articulate lyrics to produce an exciting dynamic sound for the new album.

Jefferson Alan Angell first found fame with the band Post Stardom Depression. They toured with Queens Of The Stone Age and Dee Dee Ramone before writing and recording the album Prime Time Looks A Lot Like Amateur Night.

Following on from his first band’s success, Angell moved on to try and fulfil his creative potential an and formed The Missionary Position with his friend Benjamin Anderson. Mixing hard rock with blues and funk, their two records Diamonds In A Dead Sky And Consequences were both great triumphs.

Having established himself as an amazing front for a band, Angell teamed up with Barrett Martin from Screaming Trees, Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses and Benjamin Anderson to form Walking Papers. An ultimate alliance of true rock.

New album Staticland sees Angell work with Benjamin Anderson once again and captures the spontaneous excitement of two passionate people eager to make something great. The provocative album is a masterpiece in diversity as it moves effortlessly from blues rock to Rolling Stones inspired ballads. Highly anticipated, the record was produced by Grammy Award winner Vance Powell who has worked with the likes of Jack White, The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs and Seasick Steve.

Speaking about Staticland, Angell says “I like to think of this record as taking an obstacle and turning it to an opportunity. It's an invitation to roll the dice”.

Staticland is released on 6th of May.
