Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are a hip-hop brass band from Chicago, that incorporates aspects of funk, jazz and even rock.
Their prolific efforts have seen the release of a huge list of 10” singles and EPs, plus the full-length records Bad Boys of Jazz (2020) and This is a Mindfulness Drill (2021).
The eight-piece group includes Gabriel Hubert AKA "Hudah" (trumpet), Saiph Graves AKA Cid (trombone), Amal Baji Hubert AKA "Baji" & "June Body" (trumpet), Jafar Baji Graves AKA Yosh (trumpet), Seba Graves AKA Clef (trombone), Tarik Graves AKA Smoove (trumpet), Uttama Hubert AKA Rocco (baritone horn), Hashim "Hash" Bunch (bass), Kevin "Vo Era" Hunt (guitar) and Christopher Anderson (drums).
